Route 66 Interactive uses cookies to track information about its users only to aid in functionality of the website. These cookies are tracked for a maximum of one week with the exception of one cookie which shows that you have agreed to cookies. This persists for one year. There are two different types of users who are tracked in participants and administators.
Participants are tracked by storing cookies on the code for the presentation as well as a unique identifier for the presentation that they are participating in. Additional information is stored on participants in a database including but not limited to the unique identifier of the user, their username, the identifier for their presentor, any identifiers relevant to the presentation that they are taking part in, the number of answers they have given both correctly and the total amount, and the code of the presentation.
Administators will also have information tracked through cookies such as their email, the current code for their presentation, their unique identifier, and their state of being logged in. Administators will also have their passwords sent over an HTTPS connection and stored in an encrypted form in a database as well as their email addresses stored in a database in an unencrypted format. All necessary information used with live presentations and custom presentations is also subject to being preserved temporarily or permanently in a database.
